In all three states, there have been cases of infection with the “British” variation of the coronavirus.

Cases of infection with a mutated strain of COVID-19, called “British”, have been detected since it was first registered in the United Kingdom, in Cyprus, as well as in Greece and Thailand.

Thus, the Cyprus Ministry of Health reported that 12 people who arrived from Great Britain were infected with a new type of coronavirus infection.

“In 12 of the 19 samples examined between December 6 and 20, 2020, the VOC 202012/01 strain was identified,” the message says.

According to the Greek television channel Antenna, the “British” coronavirus was also found in the tests of four Greeks. These infections probably became the reason for the tightening of quarantine in the country.

Passengers who encountered new strains are observed to be in a quarantine hotel under police protection.

Finally, a new strain of COVID-19 has been identified in Thailand. Mutated coronavirus disease was diagnosed in four members of the same family who arrived from the UK.

As Khaosod clarified with reference to the director of the Center for Clinical Virology at the Chulalongkorn University School of Medicine in Bangkok, Yong Povovravan, all members of the family are quarantined in a private clinic.
