Today, November 24, in Kiev, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Emine Dzhaparova, met with the Ambassador of Montenegro Dragica Ponorats. Japarova invited Montenegro to join the Crimean platform.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
Ponorats announced a clear position by Montenegro on the non-recognition of the temporary occupation of Crimea by the Russian Federation. Montenegro also actively supports Ukraine’s European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations and joins the European sanctions against Russia.
“Dzhaparova expressed her gratitude for the support and reported on human rights violations and the militarization of Crimea by the Russian Federation. She also presented Ukraine’s vision on the creation of the Crimean platform and invited the Montenegrin side to join their work, “the Foreign Ministry said.
We will remember, recently Ukraine invited Cyprus to the Crimean platform. The Cyprus side promised to adhere to the position of non-recognition of the temporary occupation of the peninsula by Russia.
RBC-Ukraine also wrote that Estonia expressed its desire to join the Crimean platform, the creation of which was initiated by Ukraine.
We add that Ukraine plans to hold the first summit within the Crimean platform in May 2021, if the epidemic situation allows.
