Ukraine has signed a contract for the supply of a COVID vaccine produced by the Chinese company Sinovac Biotech, even because it is not being used to promote geopolitical ambitions. Deliveries can be arranged throughout the winter.
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote about this on his Facebook.
Zelensky emphasized that Sinovac Biotech is an experienced company with a worldwide reputation.
“The great advantage of this vaccine is that its development was not a politicized endeavor. It is not used to further someone’s geopolitical ambitions. This is another fact. Only a reliable vaccine for life, not political propaganda for profit.” said.
Zelenskiy clarified that the vaccine will arrive only after the official registration. And the Ukrainian side signed a contract at this stage, as many countries are online.
“Registration is possible at the beginning of January, either in the country of origin, in one of the European countries or in the United States. The registration must be such that there is no doubt. This is another fact. Therefore, it is very possible to get the vaccine this winter. ” – added the president.
He also noted that 1.9 million doses of Sinovac will be purchased, and another 8 million doses will be provided to Ukraine as part of the global COVAX mechanism. In addition, authorities are working to increase supplies through COVAX to 16 million doses, as well as to procure vaccines from other manufacturers.
