The Ministry of Health of Ukraine has signed a contract for the supply of a COVID vaccine produced by the Chinese company Sinovac Biotech. Under the terms of the contract, 1.9 million doses of vaccine must be delivered as soon as possible.

This is stated in a message on the president’s website.

It is reported that the Chinese drug will be vaccinated for free. It is also reported that vaccines will be administered to Ukrainians at risk and those involved in fighting the coronavirus pandemic.

It should be noted that this vaccine has not yet been registered in China or other countries.

Please note that Sinovac Biotech is the largest vaccine company in China. It produces 300 to 500 million doses of vaccines per year, which are approved in 34 countries around the world. In particular, the company has developed and commercialized vaccines against hepatitis A and B, influenza viruses, including avian, and mumps.

Turkey previously made the decision to purchase the Sinovac Biotech vaccine against COVID-19. This vaccine is scheduled to be approved in other countries in January 2021, and it will also be submitted for prequalification at WHO in February 2021.

Note that in the interim trials, the Sinovac Biotech vaccine showed an efficiency of 97%.
