During the last day in Ukraine, a record number of coronavirus patients were hospitalized: 1,089 people. This was announced on Saturday October 17 by the Minister of Health, Maxim Stepanov.
“In the last day 1089 people were hospitalized, this is a lot. They are persons. Who have a severe or moderate course of the disease, “said the minister.
He noted that of the 6,410 people who have been diagnosed with coronavirus in the last day, there are 319 children and 359 health workers.
“During the entire time that the pandemic lasted in Ukraine, 293,641 people fell ill, including 18,088 children, as well as 19,204 medical workers,” Stepanov said.
According to him, a record number of tests were performed per day: 63,734, of which 36,201 were performed by PCR and 26533 by ELISA.
At the same time, the head of the Ministry of Health pointed out that in Ukraine there are “problems with PCR tests in terms of queues” and assured that the number of tests will continue to grow.
Stepanov urged people in risk groups, including those aged 60 to 65, not to leave the house unless absolutely necessary and to comply with sanitary and hygienic regulations.
Note that Ukraine has recorded a record number of new coronavirus cases for two days in a row. So, in the past, the figure went above 6000 for the first time.
