Since September 18, due to the situation with COVID-19, Israeli citizens will be prohibited from leaving their homes more than 500 meters and gathering in groups of more than 10 people.

On September 13, the Israeli government decided to reintroduce strict quarantine in relation to the coronavirus infection situation. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced this after a government meeting, NEWSru.co.il reports.

The new restrictions will take effect at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 18.

Netanyahu noted that the quarantine will last at least three weeks.

The strictest restrictions are found, in particular, in the prohibition of citizens to move more than 500 meters from their homes, to meet in groups of more than 10 people in an enclosed space. The reception of visitors in public and private institutions, with the exception of life support structures, is canceled.

Cafes and restaurants may serve customers only in take-out service.

According to the Israeli Ministry of Health, on September 13, almost 154 thousand cases of COVID-19 were registered in the country, of which 24 410 – in the last week. A total of 1108 people infected with coronavirus have died, 98 in the last week.
