Coupe-shaped Volkswagen ID crossover lit up in tests – Autoreview

The first electric ID family was Volkswagen’s ID.3 hatchback, the production version of the ID.4 crossover is on the way, but the company plans to have many more models. Among them is a coupe-type version of the Quartet, which, according to preliminary information, will have an ID.5 index. Remember the Volkswagen I.D. Crozz, which was shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2017? Judging from the first spy shots, it will still have a serial incarnation!

This is indicated not only by the stern architecture and the roof profile, but also by the characteristic line of the window sill, as well as by the shape of the body side walls. At the trunk lid you can see a small wing, and at the bottom of the bumper there are nonexistent exhaust pipe recesses, which may be part of a cleverly designed camouflage (making an electric car more difficult to recognize in the prototype) , and the “hot” top version attribute officially confirmed GTX prefix.

There is no more detailed information on the mysterious electric car. Perhaps the veil of secrecy will be revealed at the next official premiere of the original Volkswagen ID.4 crossover, set to take place before the end of this year.
