The European Commission has admitted that in the worst case, a coronavirus vaccine will not be possible at all. The best scenario foresees its appearance in the coming months.

This was stated by the European Commissioner for Health and Food Safety, Stella Kyriakidis, during a briefing.

“The worst case scenario for me is if an effective vaccine against coronavirus cannot be created. The best case scenario is that a vaccine will appear in the next few months,” he said.

We recall that the supply of a possible coronavirus vaccine in the European Union may begin in earnest in April 2021.

In addition, the EU had previously warned that vaccination until 2022 will affect only a small part of residents of EU countries.

We add that around the world, eight companies are in the final stages of developing a vaccine against COVID-19. Ukraine is in talks with companies such as Moderna, Synova, Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer and AstraZeneca.

The European Commission has signed three contracts for the supply of vaccines against the coronavirus.
