Adaptive quarantine in Ukraine

The government intends to extend the quarantine, but with a transition to its adaptive model, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said. The Cabinet is confident that by transferring more powers to local authorities, a pandemic can be located. “It may no longer be advisable to block an entire country in June or July. At the moment, we will move entirely to the adaptive quarantine model,” believes the prime minister. According to him, in the case of a positive scenario of the situation with coronavirus in the country, as of May 22, a transition to the second stage of concessions is possible. The launch of intercity and subway transport is not expected in the near future. According to Shmygal, the subway and long-distance transportation will lead to a rapid spread of the disease and an inability to locate a pandemic using adaptive quarantine, so these exemptions can only be introduced in the third stage.

The mayor of the capital, Vitali Klitschko, addressed the government with a request to open the subway from May 25, because even with a greater number of routes, public transport cannot cope with the flow of passengers. In conditions of weakening quarantine, when millions of people go to work every day in the capital, the situation may end in a traffic collapse. “I appeal to the government, after May 22, or rather, from May 25 to allow the subway to resume work in the capital … We did not want to close the subway and we kept working until the end, until the government made a decision, “said the mayor of the capital.

Klitschko also said that in Kiev, in addition to non-food shops, hairdressers, summer areas of cafes and restaurants and other small and medium-sized businesses, dental clinics and 31 food markets began to operate. In total, 640 agri-food markets resumed their work in Ukraine, 14 closed independently and protocols were drawn up on the violation of sanitary regulations with respect to 50, reports the State Food and Beverage Service.

As part of the weakening of the quarantine, the Cabinet of Ministers allowed on the summer platforms of cafes and restaurants up to 4 people at a table, in addition, groups of up to 8 citizens can stay in public places, observing the social distance and the regime of mask.
