Ukraine Launches Massive Antibody Tests Against COVID-19

Mass diagnosis can start next week

As part of the fight against the coronavirus in Ukraine, the Ministry of Health is preparing to approve an algorithm for the massive antibody test. ELISA diagnostics are supposed to start next week.

This was announced at a meeting with the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky by Health Minister Maxim Stepanov, the president’s website reports.

Stepan noted that today the Ministry of Health is preparing to approve the mass ELISA diagnostic algorithm to detect antibodies against COVID-19.

“According to the head of the Ministry of Health, if everything happens according to plans, antibody tests can start next week,” the report said.

Remember that the testing algorithm for antibodies against COVID-19 should have been determined two weeks ago. For this, the Ukrainian side consulted with scientists and experts from the World Health Organization.

Chief health practitioner Viktor Lyashko, in an interview with RBC-Ukraine, said that Ukrainians will be able to find out his status and investigate existing antibodies in private laboratories for his money. And the recommendations of the Ministry of Health will be for those IFA tests that are purchased at the expense of the state budget.
