The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine mentioned the reasons for the decline of the coronavirus in Ukraine. In particular, people began to understand the danger of the virus and to follow the recommendations of specialists.
This was stated in an interview with RBC-Ukraine by NAS academic Sergei Komisarenko.
Furthermore, according to him, the main factor is the behavior of the virus itself. Sometimes it becomes more contagious, sometimes less contagious.
“So far there is no news that the virus is becoming more or less lethal, causing a more serious or milder disease. Its behavior regarding the course of the disease has not changed yet. But its contagion is changing,” he explained .
The scientist believes that a strain of coronavirus is widespread in Ukraine, which is not as contagious as viruses in other Western European countries. However, according to him, there is another reason for the COVID-19 recession.
“The second factor, which is also extremely important, is that our people are slowly beginning to understand the danger of the virus and the COVID-19 disease it causes, and are beginning to implement quarantine recommendations more carefully: masks, hand washing and distancing ”, he added.
Recall that vaccination against the coronavirus in Ukraine has not yet started, but a plan has already been developed to immunize the population. The first batches of vaccine in Ukraine are expected in early 2021, and Ukrainians can receive the first vaccines against COVID in February.
