In the Chernivtsi region, a priest confirmed that COVID-19 coronavirus disease contacted 123 worshipers and four other clergymen.

The head of the Chernivtsi Regional State Administration announced this at a video address on Facebook today.

He pointed out that said information was established through an epidemiological investigation carried out by specialists.

The official added that he then contacted four other priests.

In addition, the ODA chief cited other examples of the spread of the coronavirus in churches causing another outbreak.

“We have an example from the Hertsaev district, where the priest is now a suspicious contact person and his wife is already ill,” Osachuk said.

He added that according to the epidemiological investigation, there are many contact points in one of the Chernivtsi districts, who contact one of the clerics.

“And there may be a new outbreak. Many believers already have symptoms and signs of the disease today,” said the head of the Chernivtsi Regional State Administration.

As reported by UNIAN in the AOD press service, there are already five coronavirus-infected clerics in the Chernivtsi region.

Recall that in the Chernivtsi region as of April 10, there were 409 cases of coronavirus. Among them, 13 patients died and 17 recovered and were discharged from hospitals.
