Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba told Moldova’s President-elect Maia Sand that Kiev supports the territorial integrity of Moldova. Ukraine will insist on the withdrawal of the Russian army from Transnistria.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The minister also expressed her gratitude to the newly elected President of Moldova for her clear and consistent position regarding the condemnation of the Russian aggression and the occupation of Crimea.

“For our part, we will continue to support the territorial integrity of Moldova in the Transnistrian settlement process and together we will insist on the withdrawal of Russian troops from the Transnistrian region,” he stressed.

In addition, Kuleba invited Sandu to participate in the activities of the Crimean Platform, the creation of which was initiated by Ukraine.

Let us remember that after winning the presidential elections in Moldova, Sandu demanded the withdrawal of the Russian military from Transnistria. However, the Moldovan president-elect wants to resolve the situation peacefully and diplomatically.

As RBC-Ukraine wrote, Russian President Vladimir Putin said such statements by Sandu threaten to destabilize the situation in Transnistria.
