Commander-in-Chief Khomchak married a governor half his age.

The newly appointed head of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration, Anna Kovalenko, 29, married Ruslan Khomchak, 53.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ruslan Khomchak, who turned 53, married 29-year-old Anna Kovalenko, who on Thursday October 15 was appointed head of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration, Suspilne reports.

Anna Kovalenko is 29 years old, Ruslan Khomchak is 53 years old. Therefore, the age difference is 24 years.

According to The Observer, Khomchak and Kovalenko met for six months. The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was previously married and divorced in 1993; this is officially Kovalenko’s first marriage.

The couple have yet to plan wedding celebrations due to the pandemic; both have recently fallen ill with coronavirus.

As the Telegram channel Silovoy points out, Kovalenko, from her work as a journalist, was no stranger to military issues, and after being appointed to high positions, she spoke of her future husband exclusively in a positive way, although she did not publicize their relationship. At the same time, his personal Facebook page is full of links to interviews with Khomchak.

In 2019, Anna Kovalenko was elected people’s deputy of the Servant of the People. And on September 10 of the same year, she resigned earlier than expected due to her appointment as deputy director of the Presidency.

But on April 22, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy removed Kovalenko from the post of OP Deputy Defense Chief Andriy Yermak, and appointed Roman Mashovets in his place. And Kovalenko was appointed deputy minister of Community and Territorial Development.

We will recall that today President Volodymyr Zelenskyy introduced the new head of the Chernihiv region, Anna Kovalenko.

As a reminder, on September 28, the Cabinet of Ministers approved Kovalenko’s candidacy for the post of chairman of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration.
