A group of blackmailer collectors exposed

According to preliminary estimates, the attackers committed more than 360 thousand threats to citizens of different regions of Ukraine.

Cyberpolice exposed a criminal group of debt collectors who engaged in blackmail using pornographic content that they displayed to debtor clients. This was reported by the Cyber ​​Police Department of the National Police of Ukraine.

“The defendants provided credit services and, in case of non-payment of the loan, they blackmailed the clients. In addition to the threats of physical violence, through photomontage, they made illegal content that represents the debtors,” the message says.

More than 30 people were found to be involved in the criminal scheme. The defendants created two finance companies that made loans.

The company also included collectors who engaged in blackmailing debtor clients. The attackers used photo editors to produce pornographic content that featured borrowers or their families. They also threatened to distribute such materials.

According to preliminary estimates, the attackers have committed more than 360 thousand threats to citizens of different regions of Ukraine.

The police agents made 50 searches in the offices of companies, departments and cars of the accused. Mobile phones, computer equipment, server equipment and “draft” records were seized. Searches were carried out simultaneously on the territory of the Kiev, Kharkov, Vinnitsa, Sumy and Kiev regions.

Criminals face up to twelve years in prison with property confiscation. Investigative actions continue.

It was previously reported that cyber specialists from the Security Service of Ukraine exposed and stopped the activities of a criminal scheme to extort money from citizens issuing “light” loans over the Internet.
