“Clubs that broadcast matches on YouTube may disappear”

Soccer journalist Alexander Denisov On the author’s show Denisov Time answered the question about UPL’s paid broadcasts:

“They throw it at me: you told us a lot about paid broadcasts of matches, why they are paid and why it is the right thing to do. However, several Ukrainian clubs broadcast matches on YouTube. Like, what are you saying then, how is it, are you saying something wrong?

Look. Of course they do YouTube broadcasts. It seems to me that as long as they do, our clubs will disappear, the sports newsrooms on television channels will disappear. Because some can stream on YouTube, while we and you, our subscribers, develop Ukrainian football together, investing our funds in it. Therefore, I can only be thankful for this.

You see, everything that is unnatural will end badly sooner or later. And sooner or later the owners of the club will ask the management: where is the income? And if these rents do not exist, if rents do not grow from year to year, everyone will run the risk of waking up the next day, and there will be no favorite team in town. This is how Metalist and Dnipro fans suffer. And the most vivid and closest example is that of Lviv “Karpaty”, which no longer exists ”.

We recall that in the current UPL championship the free broadcasts of matches on YouTube are made by Dynamo Kiev, Dnipro-1 and Zarya Lugansk.
