The introduction of a lockdown in January will reduce the number of cases of coronavirus infection to 6-8,000 per day. The exact date of the introduction of strict quarantine is still unknown.
The chief medical officer, Viktor Lyashko, told this in a meeting with journalists.
According to him, a specific start date for the lock is still being discussed, but it will most likely be introduced for 3 weeks to give the desired effect.
“Calculations show that if a three-week lockdown is introduced in January, a further increase in the incidence rate will not peak, and we will be able to move from February to March normally, and in the future dispense with another lockdown,” he said. Lyashko.
According to the medical director, mid-February is a particularly busy time in the coronavirus pandemic, as the incidence of seasonal flu then adds to the incidence of the coronavirus.
Earlier, Health Minister Maxim Stepanov said that anti-epidemic restrictions introduced in Ukraine, including weekend quarantine, have paid off. The Ministry of Health is observing a decrease in the spread of the coronavirus.
We recall, in Ukraine once again recovered from the coronavirus, more than new cases of COVID-19 were registered. Almost 15,000 Ukrainians recovered from the coronavirus yesterday.
