More than fifty lawmakers have signed a statement demanding that the dignity revolution be discredited and that former Yanukovych lawyer Alexander Babikov step down as vice president of the State Bureau of Investigation.
About this wrote the popular deputy Irina Gerashchenko on Facebook.
“Only 51 MPs have decided to sign a statement of repression against Tatiana Chornovil demanding the resignation of lawyer Yanukovich Babikov. We thank everyone who has signed up, recognizing our shared responsibility to stop the rematch,” said Gerashchenko.
The statement says that “the criminal case against Tatyana Chornovol is an attempt to attack and cross out the values in which our independence is maintained, it is a demand to keep the Russian court over all participants in the Maidan, it is a telltale sign of revenge, “It is another attempt at revenge. The geopolitical course and the historic election of Ukraine, in our desire to defend the independence of Moscow, to join the European Union and NATO.”
Among the demands to the authorities mentioned in the declaration are stopping the political persecution of the participants and the practice of initiating politically motivated cases against the Maidan participants; abandon attempts to abolish amnesty for protesters in November 2013 – February 2014; dismiss Yanukovich’s lawyer, Alexander Babikov, from the position of first deputy director of the State Bureau of Investigation; release the employees of the DBR and the Prosecutor General of Ukraine involved in the fabrication of cases against Tatiana Chornovil and other participants in the Revolution of Dignity; to conduct transparent competition for the position of director of DBR and others.
The declaration was signed by EU parliamentarians Petro Poroshenko, Artur Gerasimov, Sofía Fedina, Ivanna Klimpush-Tsintsadze, Nina Yuzhanina, Irina Friz, Irina Gerashchenko, Maria Ionova, Yana Zinkevich, Akhtem Chygoz, Mikhail Zabrodvsky, Andriy Zabro, Victoria Syumar, Oleksiy Goncharenko, member of the adjunct group of Dovira Pavel Bakunets, non-factional Oksana Savchuk, deputy of the Voice Yaroslav Yurchishin, deputies of two people of the “Servant of the People” – Svyatoslav Yurash and Irina Verech.

According to Mykola Knyazhytskyi, a member of the European Solidarity faction, the search was carried out with numerous violations of the law.
The leader of “European Solidarity”, the fifth president of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, called the searches in Chornovil a terrible symbol of revenge.
