China attraction breakdown on Feb 13: emergency video posted

Sixteen people were injured of varying severity, three of them in serious condition, after a carousel broke down at an amusement park in central China’s Hunan province on Saturday, February 13.

This was reported by the Xinhua news agency, citing information from local authorities published on Sunday.

According to the county government, the accident occurred around 3:40 pm in a Shaoyang county village.

The Flying Chair is out of service due to mechanical failure, causing some visitors to fly off the site.

All the victims were hospitalized. According to local authorities, the park was closed pending an investigation into the causes of the accident.

A video made during the accident by one of the victims of the emergency appeared on the Web.

As reported, in early February, a helicopter carrying tourists crashed into a popular resort in France.
