For two out of every three games, Ukrainians have two draws and one loss.

The International Chess Federation (FIDE) and the Chess.com website host an online team tournament from May 5 to 10: the Nations Cup.

Six teams compete: Europe, the United States, China, India, Russia and the rest of the world team. Sisters Anna and Maria Muzychuk will represent Ukraine, with Anna Muzychuk playing for the European team and Maria Muzychuk playing for the “rest of the world” team.

At first, both Ukrainians did not start in the best way. Maria Muzychuk was the first white to lose to the strongest chess player in the world: Hou Yifan of China, and then the black tied with Hampi Koneru of India. The “rest of the world” lost to China 1: 3 and defeated India 2.5: 1.5.

Anna Muzychuk started with a black draw against Russia’s Alexandra Goryachkina, and she missed the second round. Europe tied Russia 2: 2 and lost to China 1: 3.

The online tournament takes place in two rounds (10 rounds). On May 10, the top two teams will meet in the Super Final.

Time control: 25 minutes each + 10 seconds per movement. The tournament prize fund will be $ 180 thousand. Additionally, each team will receive only $ 24,000 per entry.
