Under the leadership of Igor Jovichevich, Dnipro-1 managed to score seven points in the last four rounds and climb to 10th place in the standings. The team began to act much stronger, and the Croatian specialist found an approach to the players perfectly, forcing them to play a more constructive football. Even in the confrontation with Dynamo Kiev, the Dnipro team did not show the worst level, although they sank at the end of the first half, for which they paid with two goals conceded and a loss.
Kolos has recently been looking for a game of his own and despite the good results, he still cannot boast of a stable game. Team head coach Ruslan Kostyshin changes the roster from match to match, trying to find the best option for a successful performance in the Premier League. We also note that the guests have outplayed the home team in the last two head-to-head matches.
From the first minutes the teams began a serious fight with a considerable number of infractions, one of which brought a dangerous free kick to the Dnipro-1 goal, but Kolos could not convert it. It should be noted here that the referee was quite strict, in the first forty-five minutes he issued five yellow cards.
In the first half of the first half, the hosts pounced several times on the opponents’ goal after intercepting the ball near the center of the field, the result of such attacks was a very dangerous shot by Dubinchak from outside the penalty area, but Volynets was able to drag the ball. In general, the Dnipro team seemed much faster than Kolos and therefore found themselves more often near the guests’ penalty area. Evgeny Volynets can rightly be called the hero of the first half, in the first twenty-two minutes the goalkeeper saved Kolos five times.
In general, the guests seemed more passive than the hosts, even an interesting tactical transition to 3-4-3 during the attack actions did not pay off due to the disorganized attack. At the same time, during the loss of the ball, the team did not always have time to switch to the original scheme, leaving “blind spots”. Only a mistake by the Dnipro defender led to a penalty, which was converted by Yevhen Seleznyov, putting Kolos ahead. After the goal was scored, the game calmed down a bit, the teams made their way towards each other’s goal, but the matter did not get to downright dangerous moments. Only just before the break was Kogut able to level the score, but from a lethal position the Dnipro-1 player missed the mark.
The second half started with Kolos’ second goal, but the referee canceled the goal after being warned by the video assistant. After that moment, the ball was under the control of Dnipro-1, whose players tried to create dangerous moments, and the guests tried to flee on the counterattacks, however, both teams did little. Only in the 58th minute, Kolos was able to catch Dnipro and flee in a retaliatory offensive, while the hosts left the rear almost empty, which is why Antyukh was able to drag the ball across the floor of the field and give a pass to the net empties Smirny, who hit Sarnavsky’s possession. …
After scoring a goal, Kolos closed again in defense. Kostyshin’s team defended perfectly, so the possession of the ball by the opponents was not considered as a dangerous element, as the Dnipro-1 players were unable to organize the last pass, and rare shots were blocked or hit the goalkeeper. A similar picture continued until the end of the second forty-five minutes, in addition, the Dnipro could not use neither the standards nor the corner ones. That is why the match ended in favor of the guests, who managed to maintain the victorious result.
