In Stockholm (Sweden) the week of the Nobel Prizes continues. The winners of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry were announced today.

Among the winners who have achieved world fame are Ernest Rutherford (Great Britain, 1908), who laid the foundations of the theory of radioactivity and the structure of the atom, and the researcher of vitamin C, Linus Pauling (United States, 1954 ), who was also awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1962.
Additionally, British biochemist Frederick Sanger became the owner of this award twice, in 1958 and in 1980.
Note that the winners of the Nobel Prize for Literature will be announced tomorrow and the Peace Prize will be named in Oslo on October 9.
