The former president, head of the Ukrainian delegation to TCG Leonid Kravchuk, said that if the situation in Belarus does not change, the negotiating platform for Donbass will have to change.
Kravchuk said this in an interview with the Country.
Responding to the question about Vienna’s readiness to provide a platform for negotiations on the settlement of the war in Donbass, Kravchuk said this is a good proposal.
“Now the political situation in Belarus does not help us to work on the Minsk site. The people rose up against Lukashenka and everything indicates that the protest will continue. It is very difficult to work in such conditions, ”he said.
He stressed that the trading platform will be changed.
“Obviously, if nothing changes, we will have to look elsewhere,” Kravchuk said.
Earlier, the president of the Verkhovna Rada, Dmitry Razumkov, said that he saw no logic in changing the venue of the negotiations.
Commenting on this information, Kravchuk said that this issue would not be decided by Razumkov, but by the OSCE as moderator.
“Here we are talking about an international platform. Consequently, decisions will be made at the international level, ”said Kravchuk.
As a reminder, Leonid Kravchuk voiced the idea of changing the venue of the TCG negotiations due to the crisis in Belarus in August.
Since then, protests against Lukashenka have not stopped.
At the same time, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said it was too early to discuss the postponement of the Minsk TCG meetings.
