The new leadership of the state concern Ukroboronprom must be committed to transparency and good governance, said the ambassadors of the G7 countries.

Since August 2019, the post of CEO of Ukroboronprom has been held by the former Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine. Before being appointed head of the company, he headed the supervisory board of Ukroboronprom. In an interview with Radio NV, Abromavičius explained that he wants to work on the Supervisory Board and participate in a strategic direction.

«From the first moment I became CEO, I said that I had been in this position for a very short period. The agreement with the president was such that I will still take care of the strategic direction at Ukroboronprom, ”he said.

On September 7, it emerged that Abromavičius will soon be leaving the post of his own free will. A source from NV said there were two candidates for the post of CEO of concern: the head of the defense and security industry complex in the Office of the President of Ukraine, Sergey Tikhonov, and the deputy head of Ukroboronprom, Mikhail Morozov.

Interfax-Ukraine reported today that Prime Minister Denis Shmygal submitted a proposal to President Volodymyr Zelensky for the appointment of Tikhonov. In 1998-2006, he was a people’s deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the III and IV convocations of the Progressive Socialist Party of Ukraine Natalia Vitrenko and of the For a United Ukraine bloc.
