The CEC does not organize the survey announced by Zelensky
The commission says they are doing everything they can to ensure the elections unfold amid a pandemic, and are not involved in organizing the elections.
The CEC is not organizing a national poll announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky, scheduled for the date of the local elections. This was stated by the head of the CEC Oleg Didenko, reported the press service of the commission on Tuesday, October 13.
“The CEC is doing everything possible and impossible to ensure that the October 25 elections are organized at the proper level, even under such difficult conditions due to the pandemic. The elections will be held in accordance with the requirements of the Electoral Code; the CEC does not take any action to organize a public opinion poll. “, – said Didenko.
The head of the commission suggested how this survey could be organized.
“It seems that the president’s initiative will not be organized according to the electoral legislation, but the details of this initiative, in particular the implementation format, I think we will all learn in the near future,” Didenko said.
We recall, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the conduct of a popular poll on the day of voting in local elections on October 25. At the same time, the Voters Committee of Ukraine called voting on election day illegal.
