The defense of Oleg Pulatov, accused in the case of the crash of the Malaysian Boeing MH17 flight over Donbas, wants to question Ukraine’s Interior Minister Arsen Avakov and his deputy Anton Gerashchenko. In connection with the publication of photos and videos with the transport of the missile launcher BUK.

This was stated at the hearing by lawyer Boudewijn van Eyck.

Avakov posted a Youtube link with a video after the disaster. He said secret Interior Ministry units apparently observed the movement of a missile system towards the Russian border on July 18. He also pointed out that it is a Buk, which could be shot down by MH17, ”said the lawyer.

According to the defense, they want to ask the minister when he received the video and if any action was taken regarding BUK.

In addition, the defense requests to question several witnesses who said they saw the BUK and learned of its transportation. The lawyer also announced the questioning of several journalists who reported on the accident and the BUK facility.

We will recall, on October 15, Russia withdrew from the advisory group to investigate the MH17 plane crash.

The EU then asked Russia to resume consultations on MH17.

In turn, Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said that Russia’s withdrawal from the MH17 consultative group is proof of Russia’s fear of the truth.

As a reminder, the Boeing-777 of flight MH17 flew on July 17, 2014 from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, but was shot down in the sky over the busy Donbas. The disaster killed 298 people.
