Business support in quarantine: details of Zelensky’s proposal were known

Entrepreneurs who rent space in a state or municipal building are offered to cancel their rent.

Zelensky proposes to exempt businessmen, who are forced to temporarily suspend their activities due to restrictions, from rent during the quarantine period. The corresponding initiative is contained in the presidential bill on business support for the quarantine period, the text of which was published on the parliament’s website on Friday, November 27.

In addition, the document proposes to renew municipal and state-owned leases for tenants whose activities were prohibited or restricted during the quarantine, if the term of said contract expires during the quarantine. In this case, the contract is valid for the quarantine period and for one month from the date it ends.

At the same time, the clause that prohibits the carrying out of scheduled inspections in the field of economic activity by state control bodies is excluded from the document.

We will recall, on the eve of the Verkhovna Rada, that a presidential bill on social support to policyholders and business entities was registered during the period of restrictive measures against the epidemic introduced to prevent the spread of the acute respiratory disease COVID-19 in Ukraine .

The closure aid package was also previously announced by Prime Minister Denis Shmygal. In general, at least 10 billion UAH will be spent for these purposes.
