The COVID-19 pandemic, which has caused the global coronavirus crisis, could lead to a new world war.
General Nick Carter, Britain’s Chief of Defense Staff, stated this, Sky News reports. This will happen if minor military conflicts get out of hand.
According to the British army, the economic crisis due to the pandemic has already led to regional conflicts. They are very similar to those that led to the two previous world wars.
“I think the real risk, given the many regional conflicts that are going on right now, is that the escalation will intensify. I think this is something we need to be careful about,” Carter said.
The military said that if regional conflicts are not stopped, they can “escalate” easily. At the same time, he did not specify what kind of conflicts it is.
Earlier, OBOZREVATEL reported that, according to the director of the National Bank, Kirill Shevchenko, Ukraine has been severely affected by the coronavirus pandemic. This has created serious problems for the country’s financial services sector, jeopardizing the survival of businesses and threatening the loss of jobs.
