Britain to allow mixing of coronavirus vaccines

“If the same vaccine is not available, or if the first drug received is not known, it is prudent to offer a dose of an available drug to complete the vaccination schedule,” the new guidelines said.
In turn, the head of the department of immunization of the Ministry of Health of England, Mary Ramsay, said that this will only happen in extremely rare cases, and that the government does not recommend mixing vaccines that require the introduction of at least two doses at intervals of several weeks.
At the same time, the new government regulations say that “there is no evidence of interchangeability of COVID-19 vaccines, although the investigation is still ongoing”, but the recommendations indicate that although everything possible should be done to complete the immunization regimen with the same vaccine, if the patient is at “immediate high risk” or considered “unlikely to return” and other vaccines can be given.
Remember that the WHO previously approved the Pfizer COVID vaccine. The WHO has recommended the Pfizer vaccine for emergency use. This is the first vaccine to be on this list since the COVID-19 outbreak began.
