Britain has overtaken Italy in the number of infected coronaviruses

Now the country ranks second in Europe and third in the world in the number of infected COVID-19.

In the UK, during the coronavirus pandemic, 220,449 cases of COVID-19 were recorded, while in Italy, 219,070 people became ill with the coronavirus. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to data from the John Hopkins Center, which periodically updates the statistics of registered cases in the world.

According to the data, in the United Kingdom during the last day 3923 cases were confirmed, 31 855 people died. The first two cases of COVID-19 in the country were discovered on January 31.

In Italy, 802 new cases per day were confirmed, from which they were ill all the time, 30,560 died, 105,186 people recovered. On February 7, the country confirmed the first case of coronavirus.

Therefore, due to the increased number of confirmed cases per day, Britain toured Italy in the number of COVID-19 infected. Now the country ranks second in Europe and third in the world in the number of infected coronaviruses.

Recall that earlier, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced the start of the weakening of the UK quarantine on May 13. Schools plan to open from June 1.

RBC-Ukraine also wrote that on May 5, Britain overtook Italy in the number of coronavirus victims, reaching the highest death rates from this disease in Europe.
