In the area of the Joint Forces Operation in Donbass two men attempted to break into the territory of a platoon stronghold Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the press service of the JFO headquarters on Facebook, the incident took place in the village of Viktorovka, Donetsk region, at lunchtime on Monday 8 February. The Ukrainian defender, who was on duty, was forced to use weapons. As a result, one of the saboteurs died on the spot and the other received a hand injury.
It is noted that the men entered the strongpoint territory in a car, but did not react to the demand to stop the vehicle. That is why a Ukrainian soldier opened fire on them.
“A civilian VAZ 2105 vehicle, in which there were two people, approached the checkpoint of a mechanized battalion in the vicinity of the village of Viktorovka, in the Donetsk region. The driver did not react to the demand to stop and, on the contrary, it increased the speed. The soldier fired a warning shot upwards, but the vehicle continued to advance in the direction of the armed formations of the Russian Federation.“, – says the official message.
All things considered, the combatant opened fire to kill. As a result of several shots two civilians were injured: a driver and a passenger. Workers from the mechanized battalion medical center provided first aid to the wounded and transferred them to a hospital. Unfortunately, the driver of the car died on the way to the hospital “, – added at the JFO headquarters.
In addition, the military indicated that representatives of the military service of the forces of order and the forces of order began to work in the place to clarify all the circumstances.
