The American robotics company Boston Dynamics has launched an unusual New Year’s greeting. In the posted video, the engineers made four robots that they created to dance at once.
Two humanoid ATLAS robots start dancing to The Contours’ popular 1962 Do You Love Me. The two-legged pair is joined by the four-legged Spot and then the two-wheel loader robot handle. Together they observe the rhythm and timing of movements.
“Our entire team has come together to celebrate the beginning of a new year that we hope will be happier,” the video caption reads.
The video, posted on December 29, has already gained nearly 4 million views on YouTube alone and has received a lot of comments.
“These robots dance much better than me,” writes one user.
“Thanks for developing, I hope this is for the good of humanity”, “You don’t know how to floss yet, so we still have a lot to develop”, “This is not realistic!” – added by other users.
But there are those who were scared by the video: “It will be a good dance in our bones”, “The scariest YouTube video I have ever seen”.
Other variants of the dance of the same robots are already appearing on social networks.
