Bosnia and Herzegovina can give Ukraine a scandalous icon that was previously presented to Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. However, there is a condition for it.
This was stated by Bosnian Serb leader Milorad Dodik, reports n1info.com.
He is reported to have mentioned the icon in the context of the need for judicial reform in Bosnia, as people will be glad if some officials from the Republika Srpska receive “several years in prison”.
“An example of this is the icon, which is constantly talked about, although Ukraine is not looking for it. There is a statement from the Bosnian Police Coordination Agency, which is responsible for cooperation with Interpol, that Interpol has no data about finding the icon, “Dodik said.
He also noted that he had not received a response from Ukraine regarding the search for the icon.
“If Ukraine proves it was looking for the icon before the day I met with Minister Lavrov, I will agree to hand it over,” Dodik said.
We will recall, earlier, that the Foreign Minister of Ukraine, Dmitry Kuleba, demanded that the leaders of Bosnia and Herzegovina return the icon.
According to local media, it could cost 12.5 million euros.
The icon is supposed to have been removed from occupied Lugansk in 2018 by a representative of the veteran organization of the Republika Srpska. It was handed over to Russian Minister Sergei Lavrov during a visit to Sarajevo, but he returned it immediately after the scandal broke.
