Border guards confiscate first batch of iPhone 12 contraband
A German traveled from Poland to Ukraine and had five new gadgets with him, they were delivered to customs and valued at 270-340 thousand hryvnias.
They tried to import the first batch of smuggled iPhone 12 into Ukraine before the start of official sales in the country. This was reported by the State Border Service on Monday, October 26.
As the border guards point out, the contraband was found at the international checkpoint Krakovets: five new Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max.
Smartphones were found in a Mercedes car, in which a German citizen was traveling from Poland to Ukraine. The iPhones were turned over to customs officials and the smuggling was estimated at 270,000-340,000 UAH.
We will remember that earlier in the Odessa region they found a smugglers’ submarine. The self-made design had sealed compartments, was equipped with compressed air and ballast cylinders.
The Ukrainian was also reported to have attempted to smuggle a large shipment of currency across the border. Border guards found two cardboard boxes with bills. More than 120,000 pounds were found in all.
