Ukrainian border guards plan to buy ten French Airbus helicopters in 2021.
This was announced by the press center of the State Border Service.
“This year, the Ukrainian border department expects to receive ten more Airbus H125 helicopters. It is planned that these machines will already arrive with the optoelectronic equipment necessary to monitor the state border and the exclusive economic (maritime) zone of Ukraine,” border guards said.
According to the department head Sergei Deineko, French helicopters are 4-5 times cheaper than Mi-8s, which are now in service with the State Border Guard Service.
Today there are already six specialists who can fly the Airbus H125, as well as 64 mechanics who can ensure its optimal technical condition.
Last year, border guards installed two hangars for French Airbus. One in Sumy and one more in Kiev. Now work is under way to build a hangar in the Chernihiv region.

And last January, the Interior Ministry received two French Airbus helicopters.
