On Friday, February 12, the Slovenian Pokljuka hosted the men’s sprint as part of the 2021 Biathlon World Cup.
The world champion became sensationally speedy Swede Mantin Ponsiluoma, who managed to close all the goals. Previously, the 25-year-old biathlete never won a race, not even at the World Cup.
The French won the silver and bronze medals: Simon Destieux became the world runner-up and Emilien Jacquelin won the third round.
The main favorite of the race, Johannes Boe, missed two targets in the first shootout, taking only fifth place. But in the chase race, you will have a good chance of winning.
The best of the Ukrainians was Artem Prima, who ranked 20th with an error. Dmitry Pidruchny finished 23rd after two penalty loops, and Bogdan Tsymbal shot very fast and perfectly, but ran a little slower and closed the top 30.
Anton Dudchenko failed the sprint, with three penalties he failed to qualify for the chase.
