Already in the second game after moving to Mariupol, Daniil Sikan got a place at the base. Admittedly, he feels much more confident in Azov’s team than in “Minero”: he takes charge of the game, tunes and hits. We didn’t see all of this on Pitmen’s list. It is clear that the level of the teams is slightly different, but it is worth noting the psychological liberation in the lower-status club of the young forward.
With the beginning of the game, he, together with his teammates, began to twist the vertebrae of the defense of the hosts – Azov’s team attacked in all directions, left and right. In the first few minutes alone, the Mariupol players won six corner kicks, playing them in various ways. Unfortunately, for fans of the guest team, there were no particularly bright moments on Riznyk’s doorstep. But such activity was surprising, considering that “Mariupol” played not against the former UPL middle peasant, but against the current leader of the league.
“Vorskla” at first couldn’t move the midfield at all. Only after an active debut by an opponent, Poltava made several promising attacks: Kane himself dragged the ball forward, but fired at the goalkeeper; and Galchuk once nearly made a mistake outside the penalty area: they saved the foul from the gate guard and only a yellow card from the referee.
In the middle of the half, the rivals began to slowly disappear, but this was no reason for them to stop. And “Vorskla” and “Mariupol” continued to look for opportunities to move on. But it was decided to go to rest without goals.
The guests immediately began the second period with the best moment for that moment: Bondarenko led Sikan one by one, Riznyk was in front of him at the start.
“Mariupol” also started the second half more actively. But apart from the episode with Sikan’s participation, there is nothing else to remember. The guests once asked the referee for a standard right in the center of the meters 23 meters from the gate, but Gorbunov charged higher.
Substitutions in attack helped Yuri Maksimov bring the game closer to someone else’s goal – Child and Vasin definitely added freshness and creativity. The most spectacular episode was Perduta’s shot almost from the penalty line: Galchuk managed to react to a circular shot under the crossbar and transferred to the corner.
The last minutes were like a swing. Both teams deserve a goal. But also both teams got three points. In such situations, the draw seems more logical. The only pity is that they cannot score more than one point for that football.
“Mariupol” also played with nine players: in the third consecutive game, the team was sent off; Also, due to an injury to his right clavicle, Kashchuk was not finished playing when all the replacements had been completed.
The fight in Poltava showed that football can be of great quality even without goals and on countless occasions. Before the round, the teams occupied the first and fifth places in the table, so the match can be considered central. And the players did not disappoint.
