This is reported by various Belarusian Telegram channels: NEXTA Live, Onliner and Nasha Niva.

According to media reports, several hundred students are now in the center of the Belarusian capital and have been joined by university professors.

People join in a column, shouting slogans and holding white, red and white flags. Some protesters sang the country’s spiritual hymn Kupalinka.

There are at least two known detainees.

New protests were sparked by yesterday’s arrests of students of the Minsk Linguistic University: when riot police stormed the institution’s lobby and began to take out young people. At the same time, the university administration stood by and just watched what was happening.

On September 1, the Day of Knowledge, Belarusian students marched in a column with white, red and white flags towards the center of Minsk. The security forces then harshly detained individual participants, literally hunting down youths throughout the capital.
