Two Robert Lewandowski goals were not counted after watching the replay on the VAR system, but this did not help the “bumblebees” (3: 2).

In recent seasons, football fans who do not really follow the German Bundesliga matches to determine the best team in this championship, are content to just answer the question: who won the so-called “der Klassiker”? Let us remember that this fight is formed by their confrontation between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich, which, already on the seventh day of the current Bundesliga draw, met in the Signal-Iduna Park field.

The beginning of the season did not allow to affirm that any of the teams needed to win urgently in the briefing. It is the best. Too many clashes between the “bumblebees” and the “red car” were pressured by the specific weight of the final result. Both teams successfully warmed up their opponents in the UEFA Champions League in the middle of the week, so they approached the head-to-head duel with enviable enthusiasm and without the weight of failed performances behind them.

The confrontation began with an exchange of nervous attacks by the central zone, after which the teams were firmly convinced that they would use flank directions in this match; too many risky passes ended in losses for both sides.

Bayern looked more daring in the final stage, so it is not surprising that the first effective hit of the match was on their player. Unsurprisingly, Robert Lewandowski was the scorer, and he was even a little happier for two minutes. However, the VAR noticed that the Pole’s knee was hitting behind the offside line with a cross from the left wing of Gnabry, so the goal had to be disallowed.

The Munich players pushed and pushed, but the hosts scored first. In the last minute of regulation time in the first half, Royce successfully completed a cross from Guerreiro’s left wing. The “red car” did not intend to pause, giving up on the scoreboard. Bayern Munich put in a strong-willed effort and Gnabry’s dribbling into an outside penalty area ended with Delaney’s foul. Lewandowski, Gnabry, Müller and Alaba finished off the banner, which the guests received, with a spectacular drawing, with the Austrian’s final blow in the upper right corner of the rival goal.

It is quite possible that Favre’s team had gone into halftime with a slight advantage on the scoreboard, in the second half we would have seen a solid defense from the “bumblebees”, with a forceful counterattack. The situation changed at a rather vulnerable moment, so it is not surprising that Borussia immediately failed to return to the football field: psychology played a role and the center of the defense lost the connection of Lewandowski under the service of Hernández from the flank left.

For Dortmund, this episode was the trigger for the transition to massive attacking actions, but they failed to catch opponents in the interval from their usual failed defensive play. “Bumblebees” nullified quite a few good attempts at attacking through the transfer to Holland’s play. Such a technique will be played only once, in the 84th minute, when the striker still managed to complete Neuer’s jet with a kick under the goalkeeper and Alaba, flying into a sliding tackle.

But at that point it was too late to do anything. Through Lewandowski’s legs, Bayern launched a counterattack, and the “fresh” Sané completed it with a blow to the far angle from the right flank of the penalty area. The Munich club’s victory was formalized at that point, and Lewandowski’s countless 90 + 3 goal could have made him more confident, but the Pole fell offside again.

In the next round, Bayern Munich will face Werder Bremen Bremen at home, and Borussia Dortmund will play an away game against Hertha Berlin.
