Ken Block plans to go from the formidable Hoonicorn to the equally tough Hoonifox, a drift supercar based on the so-called Fox Body generation Ford Mustang (i.e. the third in a row). In any case, the pilot design project for the new car is ready.
And it was not someone who did it, but the artist Ash Thorpe: he is known, in particular, for his work on the new Batmobile project for the next film with Robert Pattinson. Ken Block posted a large-scale video on his You-Tube channel, in which he and the designer discussed the creation of a drifting car exterior in detail.
According to Blok himself, the new Gimkhana series may be a reference to the popular Miami Vice series, known in Russia under the name of Miami Police: Moral Department. First, the rider wanted to pay a kind of tribute to one of the famous chase episodes in which the Lamborghini Countach participates, only replacing the “Lambo” with the “Mustang”. But in the end, the idea grew to the construction of a fundamentally new supercar.
The exterior of the Hoonifox end retains all references to the look of the traditional Mustangs of those years, but at the same time it is packed with the distinctive features of Block, for example a hood air intake, massive rear fenders, lots of it. of air vents, a large spoiler and a shortened opening in the door area.
Physically, the machine does not yet exist: the designer is experimenting with color schemes. Options include, for example, a “disco” exterior, done in bright colors, and a fully monochromatic body: according to Blok, the white Hoonifox will become more than just a transparent allusion to the Lamborghini Countach, which was just white. It is still unknown when exactly Hoonifox will hit Miami roads, but you can already evaluate all the options for the appearance of a supercar in our gallery.
