In the Russian city of Usinsk, in the Republic of Komi, on the eve of Victory Day, a festive banner with a deer and an armed Finnish soldier was hung on the wall of the house. Bloggers and the banner pointed out the error, local authorities were quick to remove, Russian media write.

“The deer and the people fought beyond the polar circle in the Great War. We bow before them, we remain silent, may they be eternal glory!” Such text accompanied the image on the scandalous poster.

Internet users discovered that the photo was taken in 1944 in Lapland, and depicted in it is a local resident of Uni Klemet Halonen of Utsjoki.
