Baku is ready to stop hostilities, as long as Armenia stops bombing and assumes concrete obligations to withdraw troops from Karabakh, said the Azerbaijani president.
Azerbaijan, for its part, will stop hostilities if Armenia begins to withdraw troops from Nagorno-Karabakh. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated this, his press service reported on Wednesday, November 4.
According to Aliyev, Armenia’s only commitment should be “the complete liberation of all occupied territories in accordance with the resolutions of the UN Security Council and the implementation of its basic principles.”
“I have said repeatedly and I can repeat once again that if the Prime Minister of Armenia assumes the obligation to liberate other territories, then we are ready to stop today. He has not yet assumed such obligations,” said the head of Azerbaijan.
Aliyev also demands that the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, liberate the territories of the Aghdam, Kelbejar and Lachin regions. According to Aliyev, Armenia does not want to end the war.
It was previously reported that the Armenian army, as a result of the fighting in the afternoon of November 2 and the night of Tuesday November 3, was forced to withdraw with losses of personnel and military equipment in some sectors of the front in Nagorno-Karabakh .
It was also reported that the Azerbaijani Air Force bombed the city of Martuni and the neighboring settlements in Nagorno-Karabakh.
