“Our aircrafts, airplanes, helicopters will be on duty there, and they will carry out tasks. One of the key tasks is medical assistance. So that three old ambulances are not left, but there is a guaranteed air vehicle that delivers quickly from point A to point B or a team of doctors, or a body, or an emergency patient, “Avakov said.
He noted that a flight brigade and a medical team will be on duty at all points.
“They will be constantly ready for 15 to 20 minutes, and they will fly on tasks to be set by doctors on duty in case of emergency,” the minister said.
Avakov added that the system will also deal with “not just medicine.”
“Everyone remembers, last year we had tests when we had a flood and it was impossible to deliver neither food nor water, and they took the woman out in labor in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, and this was also a delight for our pilots. . All of these machines work to extinguish a fire or to save people. When it will be necessary to solve some military tasks. This is the type of mobility that we spy in different Western countries, in this case, from France, “Avakov said.
According to the minister, the preparation of the system has already been completed.
“We are starting the real work. We are not saying that we are preparing. We will start this spring, and in the fall we will work across the country in close contact with doctors. And we will have 57 Airbus helicopters, one large Superpuma, H145 – one medium helicopter. , and a small H125 helicopter. And we will have our domestic Mi-8 and Mi-2 helicopters. That is, we will have a fleet of helicopters, which will operate in 2022, around 75-76 machines. I assure you that this is the third largest fleet. The largest and highest quality aircraft in Europe. Add to that aircraft – our Antonov aircraft and the Diamond aircraft – very light aircraft. And the combination of aircraft and helicopters will allow us across the country to ensure that doctors continue to do their jobs efficiently “said the head of the department.
In 2018, Ukraine and France signed an agreement for the supply of more than 50 Airbus Helicopters. According to the Ministry of the Interior, its cost is around 551 million euros.
In December 2018, Ukraine’s Interior Minister Arsen Avakov said that 15 helicopter bases would be created in Ukraine, which would allow, if necessary, to reach any corner of the country as soon as possible.
On March 17, 2021, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine supported the initiative of the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Health to create a Unified Aeromedical Space. The project foresees the implementation of an aeromedical evacuation system and air transport of anatomical materials from the receivers.
