The Home Office knows high-ranking politicians who are involved in smuggling fuel into the occupied regions of Donbass.
The head of the Interior Ministry, Arsen Avakov, hinted at this on the air of the political talk show “Savik Shuster’s Freedom of Speech”. The show aired on the Shuster online YouTube channel on February 5. (scroll to the bottom to see the video).
During a discussion with deputy Yury Boyko, the minister asked him: “Yuri Anatolievich, would you like to participate in supplying fuel for the militants?”
“And I had nothing to do with this,” replied the politician. “And we have reason to believe that several defendants did,” Avakov said.
Boyko responded that he did not want to comment on this, while Avakov is the head of the law enforcement agencies.
“I am telling you more than I can say, but I think I should … And more will come later,” said the minister, obviously alluding to early publicity for this investigation.
“This does not apply to me,” added an HLE member, saying that “if there are such facts,” they should be investigated and the official documents presented.
Later during the program, the head of the executive committee of the National Reform Council of Ukraine, the former president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, took up this issue again. He affirmed that some representatives of the authorities are “feeding” on the fuel smuggling scheme in the L / DPR.
“We know perfectly well that they import fuel. Through whom do they import fuel? Through our corrupt customs officers. Why don’t we touch the customs officers? Because half of parliament and half of our supposed political class feed off these officials of customs. There are people behind every channel. who have no affiliation with any party, “Saakashvili said.
