In Austria, from November 17 to December 6, a total lockdown will be introduced due to the epidemiological situation with the coronavirus.
The corresponding government decision was made public on Saturday, November 14, Reuters reports.
According to the document, outsiders will be prohibited from entering without a valid reason. Before that, the country had a curfew from 20:00 to 6:00. At the same time, citizens will be able to meet in their free time only with one person or with a family from the immediate environment.
Furthermore, almost all commercial and service establishments (hairdressers and beauty salons) will be closed. Secondary schools have already switched to distance education and elementary schools will also transfer.
The exception will be supermarkets, markets, pet stores, gas stations, banks, post offices, telecommunications stores, tobacconists and service centers. However, its opening hours will be limited in time: from 6:00 to 19:00.
Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz urged citizens not to meet with anyone at this time.
“If you live alone, you must choose a person with whom you will stay in contact during the isolation,” he said.
According to the website worldometers.info, the number of infected in the country reached 191,228. At the same time, 112,700 recovered and more than 1,200 died.
The daily incidence rate on Friday reached a record high: 9,586 people.
