The German car company introduced the second generation of the Audi A3 sedan. Novelty has seriously changed on the outside, has become more technological on the inside, and has generally reached a higher level on its own.
The new A3 sedan is presented in a sporty and elegant look. Compared to its predecessor, it is now 4 inches longer (4.5 meters) and its wheelbase remains unchanged. Its width has increased by 2 centimeters to 1.82 meters, and it is now 1 centimeter taller (1.43 meters). At 425 liters, the boot volume is exactly the same as in the previous model. At the same time, there should be another “extra” centimeter above the heads of the front passengers, as the seats are now lower than before.
The front of the body is reminiscent of the hatchback A3 Sportback and the new A4. Notice another bumper and grille with a honeycomb frame surrounded by awkward headlights.
The interior of the novelty is fully driver-oriented. It is worth noting that the physical buttons on the climate control unit remained in place, but the multimedia system display grew to a record 10.25 inches and, as an option, you can request a full “virtual cabin” with two monitors. 12.3 inches and projection screen.
As for the chassis, already at the beginning of sales, Audi will offer customers several suspension options to choose from: standard spring, standard with adaptive dampers and sports. In any case, the car became more comfortable and manageable.
At the start of sales, the new Audi A3 Sedan will be offered with three engines. The basic modification will be a combination of a 150-liter turbo engine with a 1.5-liter capacity and a 6-speed manual transmission. Along with the robotic transmission, the same engine will be complemented by a 48-volt start generator that adds an additional 50 Newton-meters of torque. The third high-end version has a 2.0-liter 150 PS turbo diesel, which also goes hand in hand with the S-Tronic robot.
Prices for the base version start at € 29,800.
