“At first, they treated me like a grumpy son.”

Mariupol head coach Ostap Markevich shared his opinion on whether his name helps him in his career.

“Of course. I am still seen through the prism of my father’s success (Miron Markevich, approx.). Probably, at first, I was still considered a wayward son who decided to play as a coach.

I believe that my headquarters and I are our work … I would like to give a few words to this. Thanks to these guys, with whom we work together, we achieved some success. This would have been impossible without your help. I would like to thank and acknowledge your work.

We work, and then football will see how much we will be able to perform. When they invited me to Mariupol, they said it was not on any other merits, but only after a detailed analysis of our work, based on the games we played, as well as the feedback from the players we work with, ”said Markevich.
