New AstraZeneca Vaccine Efficacy Study Reveals

AstraZeneca’s most recent calculations were based on 190 COVID-19 cases. It turned out that the vaccine is 76% effective, instead of the 79% indicated above.

The effectiveness of the AstraZeneca vaccine in fighting coronavirus showed 76% instead of the 79% indicated above. These were the results of a new study conducted by the company. On Thursday, March 25, reports AP.

AstraZeneca’s most recent calculations were based on 190 COVID-19 cases.

Previously, an independent commission overseeing the study accused AstraZeneca of collecting data to publicize the vaccine.

AstraZeneca relied on the results of a largely American study of 32,000 people to help restore confidence in the vaccine, which, although widely used in the UK, Europe and elsewhere, has undergone stoppages of vaccination.

European authorities have questioned how much the vaccine protects the elderly. An American study showed an efficacy of 85% in volunteers aged 65 and over.

As previously reported, AstraZeneca said it would conduct a new analysis on the effectiveness of the vaccine.
