AstraZeneca makes a statement about its vaccine

AstraZeneca announces the safety of its coronavirus vaccine

A Swedish-British pharmaceutical company has guaranteed the safety of its COVID vaccine.

In the context of the suspension of the use of the AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine in several European countries, the developer company issued a statement on Sunday, March 14, in which it assured the public of the safety of its medicine.

“Following recent concerns about thrombotic events, AstraZeneca would like to confirm the safety of its COVID-19 vaccine based on clear scientific evidence,” he said.

It is noted that to date in the EU and the UK, where more than 17 million people have been vaccinated with AstraZeneca, 15 cases of deep vein thrombosis and 22 cases of pulmonary embolism have been reported among those who received the vaccine before 8 of March.

“This is much lower than would be expected in vivo among such a large number of vaccinated populations, and similar to other licensed COVID-19 vaccines,” the company noted, emphasizing that people’s safety comes first for them.

As reported, Norway, Denmark, Austria and other EU countries have suspended vaccination against the coronavirus with the British-Swedish company AstraZeneca following the emergence of data on the formation of blood clots in vaccinated people.

At the same time, the Italian authorities said they still have no data that the drug AstraZeneca poses a danger to the health of citizens.
