Attackers prepared new provocations on May 9

Law enforcement officers detained suspects in the Kherson synagogue arson fire, which occurred on April 20, 2020. RBC-Ukraine reports this with reference to the Ukrainian Security Service.

According to the SBU, the attackers turned out to be two guys who were fans of Nazi ideology. The young people, by arson, decided to “celebrate” the anniversary of the birth of the Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.

“SBU agents identified the arsonists and discovered that on the 75th anniversary day of the victory over Nazism, they are preparing new provocations. Both attackers were arrested on May 9,” the service said.

As RBC-Ukraine wrote, on the night of April 20, an unknown person threw the so-called “Molotov Cocktail” in the synagogue building in Kherson. An attacker threw a lighted bottle of flammable liquid on the threshold of a building on Teatralnaya Street, and then disappeared. Fire was avoided because the liquid did not burst.

Recall that on the night of April 24 in Odessa there was a fire in the territory of the Monastery of the Holy Assumption. According to one version of law enforcement, the fire occurred as a result of arson. The fire destroyed the farm building, firewood, hay, paint materials in containers.
